Apple Event September 9, 2025: Everything You Need to Know
Apple just wrapped up its big September event and it was packed with announcements across the iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch lineup. If you missed the livestream, here’s a full recap of what Apple revealed and what it means for you.
iPhone 17 Lineup and the New iPhone Air
iPhone 17
Apple introduced the iPhone 17 with a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR ProMotion display that reaches an impressive 3000 nits of peak brightness. The new Ceramic Shield 2 glass offers better scratch resistance and reduced glare. Under the hood, the iPhone 17 runs on the powerful A19 chip, making it faster and smarter than ever, with improved graphics and built-in support for Apple’s on-device AI features.
The camera system got a big boost too. It now has a 48MP Dual Fusion system with wide, ultra-wide, and telephoto options. The front camera is an 18MP Center Stage lens that supports dual capture, so you can record with the front and back cameras at the same time. Video recording now comes with ultra stabilization, 4K HDR, and spatial audio.
Battery life has been improved with up to 30 hours of video playback and 50 percent charging in just 20 minutes with the optional 40W adapter. Connectivity is faster thanks to Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and enhanced AirDrop performance.
The iPhone 17 will ship with iOS 26, featuring the new Liquid Glass design, Apple Intelligence, Live Translation, and a redesigned Apple Games app.
iPhone Air
Apple also surprised everyone with the all-new iPhone Air, the thinnest iPhone ever at just 5.6mm. It weighs only 165 grams but still packs serious power with the A19 Pro chip. The 6.5-inch display supports ProMotion at 120Hz with the same 3000-nit brightness.
The design uses titanium for a lightweight but durable build. Cameras include a 48MP Dual Fusion system with a 12MP telephoto lens and the same 18MP Center Stage selfie camera. Just like the standard iPhone 17, it supports dual capture and advanced video features. The iPhone Air is eSIM-only
iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max
The Pro models continue to push the limits of performance and photography. Both run on the A19 Pro chip with an integrated N1 networking chip and 12GB of RAM. The Pro has a 6.3-inch display while the Pro Max stretches to 6.9 inches.
The redesigned horizontal camera bump houses an incredible 8x telephoto lens, the most powerful zoom ever on an iPhone. These models also feature better battery life, more storage options, and new pro-level video tools.
AirPods Pro 3
After three years, Apple finally updated the AirPods Pro. The third generation comes with what Apple calls the world’s best active noise cancellation. The earbuds now include foam-infused tips for a more secure fit and come in five sizes.
A standout new feature is health tracking. The AirPods Pro 3 can measure your heart rate using built-in sensors and sync that data with the Fitness app. They also support Live Translation, making them even more useful when traveling.
They’re more durable with IP57 water and sweat resistance and cost 249 dollars. Preorders are already live and shipping starts September 19.
Apple Watch Series
Apple Watch Series 11
The Apple Watch Series 11 introduces advanced health features like hypertension alerts and new sleep tracking improvements. It’s faster, more power-efficient, and runs on watchOS 26.
Apple Watch SE 3
The SE gets a big upgrade this year. It’s now powered by the S10 chip, features an always-on display, and supports new gestures like double tap and wrist flick. Health features now include sleep apnea detection and ovulation tracking. The SE 3 is priced at 249 dollars, making it the most affordable way to get into the Apple Watch ecosystem.
Apple Watch Ultra 3
For those who want the ultimate smartwatch, the Ultra 3 adds satellite connectivity, advanced health and safety features, and up to 42 hours of battery life. It’s built for adventurers and serious athletes.
Final Thoughts
This year’s Apple event was one of the most exciting in recent memory. The iPhone Air stole the show with its ultra-slim design, but the iPhone 17 lineup, AirPods Pro 3, and the new Apple Watch models all brought meaningful upgrades.
With pre-orders starting this week and devices hitting shelves on September 19, Apple fans won’t have to wait long to get their hands on the latest gear.
